Product Overview:
A genuine, original 4th/5th (Ross, Sutherland and Caithness) Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders cap badge. This is the Territorial Force/Army variant used between 1920 and 1946. Unlike the standard regimental stag’s head, this battalion wore the Sutherland wildcat (Cat-a-Mountain) within a strap inscribed with the motto “SANS PEUR”.
Key Specifications: Regiment: 4th/5th Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders (TA).
Design: Wildcat (Cat-a-Mountain) “sejant rampant” within a “Sans Peur” strap.
Material: Die-stamped White Metal.
Fitting: Original 2 Lugs (Loops) on the reverse.
Authenticity: Guaranteed period original; not a modern restrike.
History Note:The 5th Battalion recruited from Sutherland and Caithness. They famously wore the Sutherland Kilt and this wildcat badge rather than the standard Mackenzie tartan and stag’s head.
