Item Details: Up for sale is a beautiful original WW1 period Dorsetshire Regiment sweetheart brooch.

(Size approximately 20 mm tall & 24 mm wide) I believe this to be an Original badge, in very good condition but showing genuine signs of age… Please study pictures carefully to decide.

This miniature insignia features the detailed castle emblem flanked by a laurel wreath. Surmounting the castle is the Sphinx on a tablet bearing the battle honour Marabout. The lower banners feature the regimental motto Primus in Indis and the regiment name Dorsetshire. The banners are beautifully filled with vibrant blue enamel work

Condition: Very good vintage wartime condition. The blue enamel work remains largely intact with beautiful deep color. The gilded brass finish shows a lovely aged patina. The original pin on the reverse is complete and functions securely.

Regiment and Timeline. This miniature brooch represents the historic Dorsetshire Regiment during World War II. Sweetheart brooches were purchased by soldiers to give to wives mothers or partners before deployment.
