Item Description: Genuine Antique Royal Navy HMS Queen Elizabeth Solid Bronze Gun Tampion Badge / CrestUp for auction is a magnificent and incredibly rare piece of British maritime militaria.

A solid bronze gun tampion (tompion) badge centerline emblem from the legendary Queen Elizabeth-class dreadnought battleship HMS Queen Elizabeth, commissioned in 1914.This heavy, sand-cast bronze emblem features an incredibly detailed high-relief depiction of Queen Elizabeth I sitting in State, wearing her iconic Tudor ruff collar while holding the royal sceptre and globus cruciger (orb).

The reverse side remains in completely original, uncleaned condition, featuring its intact original heavy-duty hinged brass T-bar fixture and threaded steel mounting bolt, which was used to secure the heavy emblem to the ship’s gun muzzle plug or a wardroom presentation mount.

Condition Report: Excellent antique, field-used condition with no cracks or major structural damage.

Patina: Beautiful, deep undisturbed dark brown bronze patina throughout. It has deliberately NOT been cleaned or polished to preserve its historical integrity and maximum collector value.

Hardware: The rear mounting bolt and hinge mechanism function perfectly.

HMS Queen Elizabeth (1913) Ship History HMS Queen Elizabeth was the lead ship of her class of five revolutionary “super-dreadnought” battleships built for the British Royal Navy. Commissioned in December 1914, she was named in honor of Queen Elizabeth I. Designed at the height of the Anglo-German naval arms race, she was widely considered the world’s first “fast battleship” and represented a major leap forward in naval technology.
