Item Description
This vintage brass miniature ashtray features a lovely hand-decorated champleve enamel floral design with pink, red, and green flowers against a textured cream background. It features a bright polished brass rim and a single integrated cigarette rest at the base, making it equally perfect as a decorative trinket dish or ring holder.
The reverse side shows a smoothly polished, unbranded brass base with natural manufacturing spin marks.

Condition
Used. Good vintage condition. The colorful enamel work is largely intact with some light natural cracking, minor surface pitting, and small spots of enamel loss near the edges consistent with handcrafting and age. The brass rim and base are bright with minimal tarnishing.
History
This style of enameled brassware utilizes the traditional champlevé technique, where recessed cells are cast into the brass metal and filled with colorful glass enamels. Highly popular throughout the mid-20th century, these decorative pocket items were frequently imported from artisan workshops as charming souvenirs and vanity pieces.
