Up for sale is an original vintage World War II era Canadian Army Le Régiment de Maisonneuve cap badge. This historically significant bi-metal insignia belonged to the celebrated French-Canadian infantry regiment from Montreal, Quebec.
The front features a beautifully detailed white metal fleur-de-lis centerpiece surrounded by an intricate brass maple leaf wreath. The lower scroll bears the regiment’s famous French motto, which translates to Good Heart and Strong Arm. The reverse reveals the hollow die-stamped assembly and contains the two original rear fixing loops. This is a brilliant, genuine example for collectors of Canadian Expeditionary Forces, World War II Commonwealth insignia, or infantry regiment history.

Historical Background
Le Régiment de Maisonneuve is a historic primary reserve infantry regiment of the Canadian Army based in Montreal. During World War II, the frontline 1st Battalion mobilized in 1939 and arrived in the United Kingdom in 1940. They landed in France in July 1944 as part of the 5th Canadian Infantry Brigade, 2nd Canadian Infantry Division. The regiment fought heroically through the Northwest Europe campaign, seeing heavy action at the Battle of the Scheldt, the Rhineland, and the liberation of the Netherlands. This King’s Crown badge represents the exact pattern proudly worn on the berets of those soldiers during the war.
