Up for sale is an original The Light Infantry British Army beret or cap badge. This classic insignia features the timeless bugle horn of the light skirmishing forces, intricately bound with hanging cords and detailed tassels. Struck in brilliant, lightweight silver anodised aluminium (AA Staybrite), this badge was designed to retain its mirrored, parade-ready sheen without the need for constant polishing. It features an integrated long vertical slider on the back for secure beret or visor hat attachment. A superb piece for military veterans, regiment collectors, or historical militaria displays.

- Overall Condition: Vintage / Pre-owned in Excellent Condition.
- Details: The badge is in remarkable condition on both sides. The front silver finish is exceptionally bright and reflective, while the reverse shows flawless hollow molding characteristic of authentic Staybrite strikes. The factory solder joint holding the vertical rear slider is completely firm, straight, and structurally secure with zero bending or stress fractures.
History About the Item
The Light Infantry was a prominent infantry regiment of the British Army, originally formed in 1968 through the massive amalgamation of four storied light units: the Somerset and Cornwall Light Infantry, the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, the King’s Shropshire Light Infantry, and the Durham Light Infantry. The horn motif on this badge dates back centuries to when light troops used bugles to signal commands over the din of battle. This Staybrite issue accompanied soldiers through deployments in Northern Ireland, the Balkans, and global training exercises before the regiment was ultimately integrated into The Rifles in 2007.
