Description
Up for sale is an authentic British military cap badge for the Army Catering Corps (ACC), dating to the Second World War. This piece features a distinct central design showcasing an ancient brazier containing burning fuel with rising flames. The central image is framed by a circular title band reading “Army Catering Corps” and is topped at the peak with the wartime King’s Tudor Crown.
The reverse side shows a crisp hollow-stamping and houses the original pair of dual copper fixing loops securely attached to the left and right sides. It comes complete with a vintage steel split-pin/cotter pin still inserted through the loops. This is a wonderful addition for collectors of specialized British Army support branches, WW2 militaria, or historical badge boards.

- Front Details: The individual flame strands, the textures on the brazier, the border lettering, and the crown jewel lines all remain incredibly crisp and readable. The badge exhibits a deep, natural golden-brass patina with small hints of typical age-related darkening.
- Reverse Side: Shows normal vintage aging, minor surface oxidation, and natural dark coloration around the factory solder joints.
- Fixing State: Both rear copper loops are completely intact, straight, strong, and securely bonded to the body. The accompanying steel attachment pin shows typical surface dulling but remains fully functional and strong.
Item History
The Army Catering Corps was officially formed as a specialized unit in March 1941 to dramatically improve the feeding and nutrition standards of the British Army during the height of World War II. Before its creation, cooking duties were handled by ordinary soldiers as an extra chore. The burning brazier emblem was intentionally chosen to represent the historical heritage of military campfires and cooking fires. This King’s Crown pattern represents the badge worn proudly by wartime cooks who sustained British military personnel across every global theater between 1941 and 1945.
