Up for sale is an original British Army cap badge for The Essex Regiment. The design features a central castle with three towers, topped by a Sphinx on an “EGYPT” tablet, all surrounded by an oak leaf wreath. The lower scroll reads “THE ESSEX REGT”. This is a great piece of genuine British infantry military history for your collection.

Item History
The Essex Regiment was a famous line infantry regiment of the British Army that served in both World Wars. The badge design combines a castle to represent historical connections to Gibraltar and a Sphinx to honor the regiment’s brave actions during the Egyptian Campaign of 1801.
