Description
This is a genuine, guaranteed original World War I era British Army cap badge for the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles). The classic design features a voided, strung bugle horn positioned directly beneath the five-pointed Douglas Star (Mullet), all cleanly bordered by a traditional Scottish thistle wreath. Stamped out of historic white metal, this pattern was proudly worn on the Glengarry or field caps by Scottish riflemen during the Great War. It is a superb, combat-era addition for specialized military history collections or regional Scottish regimental displays.

Item History
Formed originally in 1881, The Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) were celebrated as the British Army’s only designated rifle unit among the Scottish infantry regiments. During World War I, the regiment expanded drastically, sending numerous battalions to fight with exceptional bravery across France, Flanders, Gallipoli, and Salonika. Genuine WW1 white metal strikes are highly collected following the regiment’s choice to formally disband in 1968 rather than lose their proud standalone identity to modern amalgamation.
