Up for sale is an original vintage World War I (WWI) British military “Song Series” postcard published by Bamforth & Co. LTD. (Holmfirth). This is Card No. 1 from the classic sentimental series “Little Grey Home in the West” (Songs Series No. 4871/1).
The front showcases a beautifully composed, hand-tinted photograph of a British soldier resting outdoors while dreaming of his loved ones back home, paired with the song’s opening printed lyrics. An exceptional, touching piece of social and military history ephemera for Great War collectors.
