Size approximately 65 mm tall and 48 mm wide and lug to lug 48 mm…….. I believe this to be an Original badge, in very good condition but showing genuine signs of age……. Please study pictures carefully to decide.

Item Description

For sale is a rare, original Victorian-era 6th (Banffshire) Volunteer Battalion, The Gordon Highlanders glengarry cap badge. This is the scarcer “solid center” variety, featuring the crest of the Marquis of Huntly (a stag’s head and ducal coronet) within a strap bearing the motto “BYDAND”.

Collector Features & Authenticity: Unit: 6th Volunteer Battalion (Volunteer Force era).

Period: Circa 1884–1908.

Construction: High-quality die-stamped white metal with crisp detail to the antlers and lettering.

Reverse: Features the original two copper lug (loop) fittings, securely brazed. Includes the original brass split-pin (cotter pin) for attachment.

Design: Correct non-voided (solid) center specific to this battalion.

Condition: The badge is in excellent vintage condition with a natural, uncleaned patina. There are no cracks, repairs, or thinning from over-polishing. The reverse fittings (lugs) are strong and original.
