Description
Up for sale is an authentic antique British military regimental cap badge for the Seaforth Highlanders (Ross-shire Buffs, The Duke of Albany’s). This famous Scottish Highland infantry badge features the finely detailed Caberfeidh stag head and antlers. A flowing lower banner displays the traditional Gaelic regimental motto CUIDICH ‘N RIGH. Crisply struck from white metal during the Great War era, this item features its original copper loop attachment lugs fixed to the reverse side. A wonderful piece of genuine Scottish military history, perfect for display cases or a militaria collection.

Condition
The item is pre-owned and in good antique condition with a notable defect. It features a beautiful, natural aged white metal patina with authentic tarnish and light green verdigris on the reverse side, confirming its genuine age. The stamped letters and stag features remain sharp and unrubbed. 

Please Note: The top-left copper attachment lug located on the rear antler tip has broken off and is missing. The top-right and bottom-center copper lugs remain firmly attached and intact. Please inspect the provided high-resolution photos closely to view the exact cosmetic state and the noted missing lug area.

Item History
The Seaforth Highlanders was a historic line infantry regiment of the British Army that saw extensive, heroic service on the Western Front and in Mesopotamia during the First World War. Their famous emblem incorporates the stag’s head, which relates to the clan crest of the Mackenzie family who originally raised the regiment. This classic pattern badge was worn proudly on the front of the traditional Scottish glengarry and feather bonnets.
