- Battle Honors: The iconic elephant and ASSAYE scroll honor the heroic actions of the 74th Highlanders at the Battle of Assaye in 1803.
- Famous Commander: This battle victory was achieved under Major General Arthur Wellesley, who later became the Duke of Wellington.
