Up for sale is an original, genuine British Army cap insignia for the Royal Welsh Fusiliers. The design features a classic exploding grenade (fusilier bomb). The central ball of the grenade features the Prince of Wales’s feathers, coronet, and motto “ICH DIEN”, surrounded by a circular band inscribed with “ROYAL WELSH FUSILIERS”. This is an excellent piece of authentic early 20th-century infantry history for any militaria collection.

Item History
The Royal Welsh Fusiliers was a historic line infantry regiment of the British Army raised in 1689. During World War I, the regiment expanded greatly, raising dozens of battalions that fought with legendary distinction on the Western Front (including the Somme and Ypres) as well as in Gallipoli and Mesopotamia. Famous writers like Siegfried Sassoon and Robert Graves served with the regiment during this era.
