History
This is a highly sought-after original World War II period cap badge for the 27th Lancers. Raised in 1941 as a cavalry regiment of the Royal Armoured Corps, this unit had a short history, seeing active service in the Italian campaign before being disbanded in 1945. The iconic insignia features the King’s Tudor Crown over crossed lances with pennons. The center showcases a striking white metal elephant head above the regiment number 27, commemorating the unit’s link to the 9th Queen’s Royal Lancers.

Excellent authentic wartime condition with beautiful crisp details on the elephant’s features and the crown jewels. The white metal elephant face creates a superb, sharp contrast against the golden-brass lances and crown. The reverse displays a completely original, solid, and straight brass slider attachment bar.
