Please review the high-resolution photographs to inspect the exact preservation quality.
History
A premium piece of British military and theatrical history. At the outbreak of the Second Boer War, Kipling wrote this poem to raise money for the families of soldiers ordered south. The legendary actress Lillie Langtry donated £100 to the Daily Mail fund for the rights to use the poem. She recited it on stage at the Garrick Theatre and handed these high-end silk facsimiles directly to the audience members as a 100th-performance souvenir on October 24, 1899. Examples of this exact silk printing are held in the permanent collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum.
