An exceptional piece of English football heritage. This is an authentic, original share certificate issued by The Derby County Football Club, Limited, dated 31st January 1947.
- Certificate Number: 776
- Share Details: Certifies that Frederick William Hughes of 177 Upper Dale Road, Derby, was the proprietor of 5 fully paid shares (numbered 872 to 876 inclusive).
- Signatures: Features original signatures from Club Directors B. Robshaw and Oswald Jackson, along with Club Secretary S. Conably.
- Authenticity Features: Includes the official raised, embossed circular company seal of the football club on the lower left, and a decorative margin printed locally by W. H. Walkup, Printer, Back Sitwell St., Derby.
History & Context
This certificate dates directly to the legendary post-war era of Derby County FC, issued just months after the club won its historic first and only FA Cup Final in 1946 beating Charlton Athletic 4-1 at Wembley. Finding genuine financial ephemera from this golden era of the Rams is incredibly rare.
