Up for sale is a stunningly preserved, original 1968 vintage oversized pin badge featuring John Lennon from The Beatles’ animated cinematic masterpiece, Yellow Submarine. This is a highly sought-after UK market edition—100% authentic from the 1960s.
History & Rarity
Released in July 1968 to coincide with the film’s premiere, these massive 3.5-inch badges were produced in limited quantities. This specific piece was manufactured by Primrose Confectionery Ltd. in Sowerby, England. Primrose is legendary among Beatles collectors for producing high-quality promotional memorabilia and bubblegum cards during the peak of Beatlemania. The rim text is clearly legible, stamped with: “© 1968 King Features Subafilms Ltd., Primrose Confectionery Ltd., Sowerby England”.
