Rare 1985 Theatre Programme: August Strindberg’s “Dance of Death” at Riverside Studios. This is an original programme from the critically acclaimed 1985 production of Strindberg’s intense domestic drama.
Starring: Alan Bates as Edgar and Frances de la Tour as Alice, with Michael Byrne as Kurt.
Production Team: Directed by Keith Hack with a new adaptation by Ted Whitehead.
Historical Significance: Frances de la Tour is especially noted for her performances in this play, having returned to the role of Alice multiple times in her career, including a later 2003 production alongside Ian McKellen..
