Item History:
Following the conclusion of World War I, a sweeping reorganization took place in 1922. The 1st Regiment of Life Guards and the 2nd Regiment of Life Guards were permanently amalgamated to form a singular unit known as The Life Guards (1st and 2nd). This specific King George V cypher pattern badge was introduced immediately after that merger and worn until 1928, when the title text was officially shortened to simply The Life Guards.
