Description
An authentic early 19th century Georgian mechanical bottle spit jack roasting engine manufactured by George Salter and Company. This historical fireplace piece features the rare round Salter maker badge on the front cylinder and a matching stamped number 25 on the underside base plate. The outer brass casing slides up to completely reveal the internal iron clockwork gear assembly, wheels, and spindle mechanism. Due to its condition issues, this item is an exceptional find for a restorer needing original replacement components, or a collector looking for a rustic fireplace display piece. Review the photos to see the exact gear layout and casing flaws.
