Antique Silver Plate Jelly Mould 10cm CP AS A Marks Victorian Kitchenalia

Item Description: Rare Antique Victorian Silver Plate Jelly Mould – CP AS A Marks

This is a beautiful and genuine 19th-century Victorian jelly (or blancmange) mould, featuring rare early silver-plating marks. Unlike common modern reproductions, this piece is “Close Plated,” a labor-intensive antique method where silver foil was hand-soldered onto a base metal.

Material: Silver Plate on Albata (an early nickel-silver alloy).

Dimensions: Approximately 10cm x 5.5cm.

Hallmarks/Marks: Stamped with CP (Close Plate), AS (Albata Silver), and A (Standard Quality).

Design: Classic fluted shape, perfect for both functional use and high-end kitchenalia display.

Condition Report: This item is in good antique condition commensurate with its age.

Silvering: The silver plate remains largely intact with a wonderful aged patina.

Wear: There is some minor “bleeding” where the base metal shows through, which is a desirable sign of authenticity for collectors of Close Plate items.

Structure: No major dents, cracks, or repairs
