The badge beautifully displays the iconic prancing White Horse of Kent standing upon a banner inscribed with INVICTA. Beneath the horse is the primary title banner reading ROYAL WEST KENT. This example is beautifully struck in crisp white metal and features a solid brass vertical slider on the reverse side. The slider is stamped with the historical J.R. Gaunt London manufacturer mark. The Queen’s Own Royal West Kent Regiment was an elite line infantry regiment of the British Army that saw extensive active service on the Western Front, Gallipoli, and Italy during the First World War. Their insignia incorporates the famous White Horse of Kent alongside the county motto “Invicta”.
