Description
Up for sale is an authentic, original mid-20th-century vintage member’s lapel badge for the British Legion. This configuration features a multi-piece design consisting of a rich blue enamel title wheel encircling a separately applied, high-relief silvered lion’s head focal point.
The reverse features an authentic crescent lapel mount designed to clip securely inside a classic jacket buttonhole. The back plate is officially roll-stamped with the designated registration prefix A and individual veteran registry number 498945. This makes it a great addition to any militaria, veterans’ organization, or British social club insignia collection.

Item History
The British Legion was founded in 1921 to bring together several veteran organizations supporting service personnel following the First World War. This specific design does not feature the crown at the top, confirming it dates prior to 1971 when the organization was officially granted its “Royal” prefix by the Monarchy. The stamped tracking number on the back was uniquely issued to a registered member, serving as a token of personal veterans’ heritage.
