    Item History
    • Formation: The 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards was officially formed in 1922 (hence the MCMXXII inscription) by merging two historic cavalry units: the 4th Royal Irish Dragoon Guards and the 7th Dragoon Guards.
    • Military Service: The regiment famously converted from horses to tanks, serving bravely in World War II. They notably led the very first Allied tank landings on Gold Beach on D-Day in 1944.
    • Rarity Factor: Genuine white metal variants with intact, unbroken rear copper loops are becoming highly sought after by collectors today, as many surviving pieces suffer from clipped or repaired attachments.
