Description: Up for sale is an exceptionally rare, 100% original antique die-stamped brass headdress badge to ‘A’ (British Asian) Squadron of the famous King’s Colonials (Imperial Yeomanry). Worn on the side of the slouch hat or headdress, this iconic insignia dates precisely to the 1901–1909 period.
Front Details: Features a stunning Asian elephant facing right on the reverse mirror strike, standing on a textured ground with distinct palm trees visible between its legs. The lower sweeping scroll reads “BRITISH ASIAN”, beautifully split by an ornate star and crescent center.
Rear Fixing Details: As shown in the photos, the reverse features two original copper wire loops (lugs) in a secure east-west configuration, completely original with zero modern repairs or resoldering. It includes a vintage long brass split pin intact.
Condition: Excellent original antique condition. The badge has a superb, untouched deep natural patina with historic tarnish in the recesses. Left completely unpolished to safeguard its value.This is a premier, investment-grade piece of early 20th-century British colonial cavalry history.
