The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards (Carabiniers and Greys) is a senior cavalry regiment of the British Army, formed in 1971. This badge design honors the regiment’s ancestral heritage. The center features the famous French Imperial Eagle standing on a tablet inscribed with Waterloo. This commemorates the 1815 Battle of Waterloo, where the ancestral Royal Scots Greys captured the eagle standard of the French 45th Regiment of Line Infantry. The eagle is set over crossed carbine rifles and a lower banner reading “Royal Scots Dragoon Guards.”
