This is an original First World War era brass economy cap badge for the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders. The badge features St. Andrew holding his saltire cross, surrounded by a detailed wreath of thistles, with the “Cameron” title scroll along the bottom. This is the large 56mm size, displaying excellent, crisp detail on the figure and the thistle leaves. It has a beautiful, deep natural brass patina.

Item History
The Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders were a renowned Scottish line infantry regiment of the British Army. This all-brass version is a classic WW1 economy issue, authorized by the War Office starting in 1914 to save time and precious materials during maximum wartime production. While regular peacetime versions were bi-metal, these all-brass versions were worn by thousands of Scottish troops on their Glengarry and Tam o’ Shanter caps on the Western Front.
