For sale is a 100% genuine, original British Army Royal Buckinghamshire Yeomanry (Royal Bucks Hussars) white metal cap badge. This highly desirable cavalry insignia features the prominent chained Buckinghamshire Swan centered within a garter band bearing the famous motto “YEOMEN OF BUCKS – STRIKE HOME”. The piece is topped with a detailed King’s Crown and supported by the “ROYAL BUCKS HUSSARS” title scroll.
For sale is a 100% genuine, original British Army Royal Buckinghamshire Yeomanry (Royal Bucks Hussars) white metal cap badge. This highly desirable cavalry insignia features the prominent chained Buckinghamshire Swan centered within a garter band bearing the famous motto “YEOMEN OF BUCKS – STRIKE HOME”. The piece is topped with a detailed King’s Crown and supported by the “ROYAL BUCKS HUSSARS” title scroll.
The reverse features its original, solid vertical brass slider fixing fully intact, allowing it to easily slip into a standard side cap, beret, or hat band. The slider is clearly stamped with the highly collectible maker’s mark: “J.R. GAUNT B’HAM”. This is an incredibly crisp strike with excellent definition on the swan’s feathers, the crown jewels, and the lettering visible from both sides.
Condition:
The badge is in excellent vintage / used condition with a great natural patina. No heavy bends, cracks, or modern repairs. The rear brass slider is completely straight, rigid, and firmly attached to the main body. The maker’s stamp is crisp and perfectly legible. Please inspect the high-resolution front and back photographs to evaluate the exact cosmetic condition before purchasing.

The Royal Buckinghamshire Yeomanry was an elite volunteer cavalry unit of the British Army originally raised in 1794. They were officially granted the “Royal” title in 1845. Operating as part of the Territorial Force, the regiment saw active service as combat cavalry and converted artillery units during both World War I and World War II, seeing action in Egypt, Gallipoli, the Western Front, and Northwest Europe. Due to their unique motto, Gaunt maker mark, and localized recruitment, original badges are highly prized by British cavalry and Yeomanry collectors
