Item History
The Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) was a renowned rifle regiment of the British Army, famously formed in 1881. This large-format badge—featuring the Douglas star—was worn on the traditional Scottish Glengarry bonnet. The rare 3-lug setup on a badge of this size is highly indicative of a variant specifically issued to Regimental Pipers to secure the heavy insignia firmly during movement. The regiment served with high distinction on the Western Front during the First World War before ultimately being disbanded in 1968.
