Product Overview : For sale is an authentic, original Bermuda Rifles Regimental Cap Badge dating from the 1951–1965 era. This scarce piece of British Colonial military insignia features a finely die-stamped Maltese cross with a central stringed bugle horn, surrounded by a classic laurel wreath and surmounted by a detailed Queen’s Crown. A rare and highly sought-after addition for collectors of Commonwealth and British overseas territories militaria.
The Bermuda Rifles were a legendary home defence unit formed in the British Overseas Territory of Bermuda. Originally designated as the Bermuda Volunteer Rifle Corps (BVRC) in 1894, the regiment was formally retitled the Bermuda Rifles in 1951. The unit holds a distinguished historical legacy, having sent contingents to fight alongside the British Army during both World Wars. In 1965, the Bermuda Rifles officially amalgamated with the Bermuda Militia Artillery to form what is known today as the Royal Bermuda Regiment. Because of the regiment’s small size and brief 14-year run under this specific title, genuine cap badges from this era are highly prized on the global militaria market.
