Description : Original Post-1953 British Army Dental Hygienist Trade Badge Up for sale is a genuine and scarce proficiency trade badge for a Trained British Army Dental Hygienist. This distinctive “dustbin lid” style badge was authorized in 1955 for qualified personnel serving within the Royal Army Dental Corps (RADC) or the Queen Alexandra’s Royal Army Nursing Corps (QARANC).
Era: Vintage / Post-1945 (Queen Elizabeth II period).Design: High-relief design featuring the “Queen’s Crown” (St. Edward’s Crown) above crossed swords and the Royal Lion, all encircled by a laurel wreath with the text “DENTAL HYGIENIST ARMY.”
Material: White Metal / Nickel Silver with an oxidized, darkened finish.
Fastening: Complete with its original horizontal brooch pin on the reverse, which is in good working order.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. It has a lovely natural dark patina that really makes the embossed details stand out. (Please see photos for a close-up look).This is a fairly hard-to-find trade badge and would make a fantastic addition to any collection focusing on medical militaria, nursing history, or specialized British Army insignia.
