Product Overview: For sale is an authentic, original Women’s Royal Army Corps (WRAC) Cap Badge dating from the post-WWII Queen’s Crown era (1953–1992). This striking piece of British women’s military history features a beautifully detailed bi-metal construction: a silver-plated white-metal lioness rampant standing proudly at the centre of a gilded brass laurel wreath, all elegantly surmounted by the St. Edward’s (Queen’s) Crown. A fantastic addition for any serious militaria, corps insignia, or female military history collector.
Historical Context : The Women’s Royal Army Corps (WRAC) was established on 1st February 1949, absorbing the heroic women who served in the wartime Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS). Over its distinguished history, the WRAC saw thousands of women serve across over 40 technical trades—including communications, intelligence, and administration—working alongside regular regiments globally
