This striking bi-metal insignia features the beautifully detailed White Horse of Hanover in full gallop on a textured ground. Below the horse sits a curved brass banner scroll boldly inscribed with the regimental title: “3rd King’s Own Hussars”.

Item History
First raised in 1685, the 3rd (The King’s Own) Hussars was a premier light cavalry regiment of the British Army. The regiment served with high distinction across three centuries of conflict, seeing heavy active service during World War II, where they fought as part of the Royal Armoured Corps in North Africa, El Alamein, and Italy. The iconic leaping horse symbol dates back to their historical ties to the House of Hanover. The regiment was eventually amalgamated in 1958 to form the Queen’s Own Hussars.
