Item: Genuine British Army 6th Battalion Hampshire Regiment (Territorial Force) Cap Badge.
History & Designation:This is the scarce Territorial badge for the 6th (Duke of Connaught’s Own) Battalion. Unlike the standard regimental badge, this specific design was worn by the men of the 6th Hants, who served with distinction in India and Mesopotamia during the Great War.
Details:Era: Original World War I (WW1 / Great War)
Construction: High-quality bi-metal strike. Features a white metal coronet and title circlet with a central brass Hampshire Rose.
Reverse: Complete with its original, solid brass slider fastening.
Design: Central rose within the “Duke of Connaught’s Own” circlet, flanked by laurel sprays and topped with a ducal coronet.
Condition: The badge is in excellent original condition with a wonderful natural patina. The striking is very sharp, showing clear detail on the petals of the rose and the jewels of the coronet. The slider is firm and has not been repaired.
