A superb, original Dorsetshire Regiment (“The Dorsets”) other ranks’ cap badge. This is a high-quality, genuine bi-metal strike featuring a brass wreath and scroll with a white metal (nickel) Sphinx and Gibraltar Castle.
This badge is a beautiful piece of British military history, displaying the Sphinx (honouring service in Egypt), the Castle and Key (Siege of Gibraltar), and the regimental motto “Primus in Indis” (First in India).

Condition: Excellent antique condition. It has a fantastic deep, uncleaned patina to the reverse, proving its age and authenticity. The die-stamping is sharp, showing high-quality detail in the brickwork of the castle and the Sphinx.
Note to Collectors: This is a genuine vintage strike with a desirable slider fitting, perfect for a Great War collection. It has been kept in its original, unpolished state to preserve its historical character. Please see the photos of the reverse for the authentic aged finish.
