Description
This is an authentic, original British military cap badge for The Green Howards (Alexandra, Princess of Wales’s Own Yorkshire Regiment). This design features Princess Alexandra’s royal monogram intertwined with the Dannebrog cross, surmounted by a finely detailed King’s Crown. The entire main body is struck in clean white metal, framed by the regimental title scrolls. The reverse features a solid brass slider mechanism, used to secure the insignia onto infantry field service caps and berets. A beautiful, unmodified piece of British military heritage.

Item History
The Yorkshire Regiment officially took the title Alexandra, Princess of Wales’s Own in 1902 and became universally known as The Green Howards in 1921. This specific white metal pattern with a brass slider back was worn extensively by line infantry battalions throughout the First World War (WW1) and remained in service through World War II (WW2) before modern updates in the 1950s.
