Product Overview: For sale is an authentic, original Lancashire Hussars Yeomanry Cap Badge dating from the WWI era. This premium piece of British cavalry insignia is beautifully die-stamped in solid gilding metal / bronze tone, prominently featuring the detailed Red Rose of Lancaster above a flowing regimental title scroll. A scarce and highly collectible addition for any serious militaria, yeomanry, or First World War collection.
Historical Context – The Lancashire Hussars were a historic yeomanry cavalry regiment of the British Army, first formed in 1798. During World War I, the regiment split into three distinct operational units. They saw action on the Western Front in France and Flanders as part of the 1st King’s Edwards Horse, as well as serving in Salonika and Egypt. In 1917, due to the changing nature of modern warfare, the regiment was converted into an infantry role, becoming the 18th (Lancashire Hussars) Battalion of the King’s Liverpool Regiment. Because the regiment was relatively small compared to massive regular line infantry units, original WWI-era yeomanry badges like this are significantly scarcer and always command a premium among collectors.
