This is a genuine white metal cap badge for the 5th (City of London) Battalion, The London Regiment, famously known as the London Rifle Brigade.
Design: Features a central shield with the Royal Standard, surrounded by a circlet inscribed “London Rifle Brigade – South Africa 1900-02”. It is surmounted by a King’s Crown and framed by an oakleaf wreath with a crossed sword and sceptre.
Motto: The base scroll carries the regimental motto “Primus in Urbe” (First in the City).
Construction: High-quality die-stamped white metal.
Attachment: Features the original long brass slider on the reverse.
Condition: Authentic aged condition with sharp details and a natural vintage patina. Please see the photos for the exact condition of the front and back.
