Item History
Formed in 1881, The Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) were a famous rifle regiment of the British Army. This iconic insignia features the Douglas Star and the light infantry bugle horn. While standard infantry ranks wore basic white metal badges, officers and special positions wore high-quality silver plate or sterling silver variations. The regiment served with high distinction on the Western Front during World War 1. The unit was formally disbanded in 1968, making these original plated WWI pieces highly collectible.
