Description
This is an authentic, original British Army bi-metal regimental cap badge for the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers, dating to the World War II era. The front features a crisp, detailed white-metal central insert of St. George defeating the dragon, surrounded by the regimental motto “Quo Fata Vocant”. The reverse highlights a complete, long brass slider attachment, which was designed for easy fitting onto wartime side caps, field service caps, and berets. Item History
The prefix “Royal” was granted to the Northumberland Fusiliers in 1935. This specific style of bi-metal badge with a long slider was manufactured and worn during the World War II period (1939–1945) and used up until 1952, right before the British military transitioned to modern anodized aluminum materials.
