Item description
An original, vintage edition of the classic British weekly cinema magazine “Picture Show & Film Pictorial” dated August 8th, 1953 (Vol. 61, No. 1584).
The front cover features a beautiful image of real-life Hollywood couple Jean Simmons and Stewart Granger in costume for the MGM historical drama “Young Bess”. This magazine is a fantastic time capsule of 1950s cinema culture, featuring vintage movie reviews, star gossip, production previews, and period film advertisements from the golden age of cinema.
Condition: This magazine is in acceptable vintage condition but displays prominent wear. There is significant tearing and paper loss to the top left corner of the front cover and spine area, as clearly visible in the listing photograph. The remaining pages show typical vintage edge wear, minor handling creases, and natural paper toning due to its 70+ year age. It remains a scarce, completely readable item for film historians and collectors..
