Product Overview: For sale is a highly detailed and guaranteed original 19th-century Victorian Rifle Volunteers / Militia badge. This is a rare decorative variant, likely commissioned for a specific local unit, featuring insignia not found on standard infantry patterns.
Key Features & Design: Crown: Topped with the Queen Victoria Crown (QVC), dating the piece between 1837 and 1901.
Central Boss: Features a solid Brass stippled (pebbled) center, characteristic of specific Volunteer and Militia patterns from the mid-to-late Victorian era.
Unique Embellishments: The bugle horn is intricately decorated with Oak Leaf sprays and a distinct Fleur-de-lis on the bell—rare markers for specialist collectors of unattributed local variations.
