On Sale is a Rare WWII Popski’s Private Army PPA Cap Badge No. 1 Demolition Squadron Sterling Silver Stamped.
Unit: Popski’s Private Army (PPA), officially known as the No. 1 Demolition Squadron.
Design: Features the unit’s distinctive armillary sphere emblem.
History: The PPA was an elite British Special Forces unit formed in Cairo in 1942 by Major Vladimir Peniakoff (“Popski”). They were famous for their long-range reconnaissance and sabotage missions behind enemy lines in North Africa and Italy.
Significance: Because the unit was so small (only about 80 men at its peak), original badges are highly sought after by collectors of British Commando and SAS-related memorabilia.
