The Royal Mercian and Lancastrian Yeomanry was a distinguished armored reserve regiment of the British Army formed in 1992. This specific badge elegantly blends their territorial histories: the double-headed eagle represents the ancient Kingdom of Mercia, while the red enamel rose honors the county of Lancashire. This specific insignia variant was contracted to the London Badge & Button Co Ltd following the unit’s formation. The regiment operated under this design until it was formally amalgamated into the Royal Yeomanry in 2014, making these original LB & B enamel variants highly collectible today.
