The Townswomen’s Guild was officially established in the United Kingdom in 1929 following the Equal Franchise Act to empower, support, and educate women as citizens. Local branches appointed officers to handle the operations of their guilds, with specific enamel status badges proudly worn by committee members to show their active roles.
