Authentic Victorian East Lancashire Regiment Bi-Metal Cap Badge (KK 637)
This is a genuine, period-original Victorian-era cap badge for the East Lancashire Regiment, featuring the iconic “dipped” Queen Victoria’s Crown (QVC).
Regiment: East Lancashire Regiment (formed 1881).
Symbols: Features the Sphinx over the “EGYPT” tablet, sitting above the Red Rose of Lancaster, all enclosed within a laurel wreath.
Construction: High-quality bi-metal (two-tone) die-stamped construction with a voided (cut-out) center around the Sphinx.
Reference: Listed in the standard Kipling & King catalog as KK 637.
Condition Note: Fixings: Please note that the original lugs (loops) on the reverse are missing (as shown in the photos).
Details: The front of the badge remains in excellent condition with very crisp, sharp details and a nice aged patina.
Summary: A perfect “gap-filler” for a Victorian military collection or a great piece for a framed display.
