This listing shows the reverse view of an original Victorian period Engineer Volunteers cap badge. The backplate clearly reveals the deep intaglio reverse strike from the heavy die-stamping process. It shows the distinct concave molding that gives the front side its sharp, three-dimensional domed appearance.
