A wonderful piece of 1930s British social and postal history. This listing is for an original, authentic used envelope mailed from the Brighton & Hove area to a Miss R. Mellor at “The Talbot,” Moat Lane, Birmingham.
A wonderful piece of 1930s British social and postal history. This listing is for an original, authentic used envelope mailed from the Brighton & Hove area to a Miss R. Mellor at “The Talbot,” Moat Lane, Birmingham.
The front showcases beautiful period handwriting in black ink and features a clear, crisp circular date stamp postmark from Brighton & Hove dated “7 JAN 1934.” It features a King George V pre-decimal green halfpenny postage stamp. The envelope itself has an open top triangular flap style.
Good vintage condition considering its age. The paper shows natural toning and light age-related discolouration. There are standard folding creases and minor edge wear from historical handling. The stamp and postmarks remain clear and legible. Please inspect the high-resolution photo closely to assess the exact condition before purchasing.
