Vintage 1951 Glasgow Citizens Theatre Programme Spindrift World Premiere Mitchison
Up for sale is a highly collectible original post-war theatre programme from the Glasgow Citizens’ Theatre production of “Spindrift”. Crucially, the front cover explicitly states that this run was “The World Premiere” of the play, which was co-written by the celebrated Scottish novelist and poet Naomi Mitchison alongside Denis Macintosh.
The play is set in a small fishing village in the West of Scotland and was staged at the historic Royal Princess’s Theatre.

Condition Report:
The programme is in good vintage condition for an item over 75 years old. It features a light, neat pencil inscription on the top front cover reading “May 1951”. The pages show light natural age-toning and very minor edge handling wear. The spine staples are firm but rusty, the binding is secure, and there are no large tears or heavy staining.
